When I first met Adrianna at her bustling workshop in the heart of Mexico City, I instantly felt connected to her and the community of artisans her family has been part of for three generations. I was able to experience firsthand their traditional basket weaving technique that’s been passed down and preserved over the years. It was truly an incredible experience to witness these artisans braid and weave natural palm straw to make baskets and other accessories - each item taking at least one to two days to complete. When you hold a piece of their artistry in your hands, it’s like holding a piece of history. Having a partnership with global artisans gives me the opportunity to share their craft with customers and bring these one of a kind, sustainable products home.

Reflecting back this Thanksgiving, I have to say that I’m most thankful for the beautiful work of these artisans and the customers who inherently support them along the way. With every sustainable basket, bag, or hat purchased, the Leah brand is able to keep these culturally rich traditions alive, offer more sustainable products, and unique designs each season. Seeing how retail customers display Leah basket bags in their stores and someone on social media wearing one of the hats I designed, gives me the confidence to continue to provide quality, sustainable décor and accessories that conscious, stylish consumers will love.

Thank you for being part of this journey, supporting a small woman owned business and the livelihoods of the artisans who handcraft sustainably made products for our customers to cherish for years to come. Be sure to visit our website for special offers over the holidays as our way of saying “thank you.”

We appreciate you and wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season!
